Let me start by saying “this is not what we should still be talking about in this year 2016”, being that, the said election was carried out precisely, on the 21st of November. It is pathetic and infuriating some of those who served as Adhoc staff in the Guber election, are yet to be paid. Am aware the number runs into hundreds and even though you may altercate that, am one of them and I can speak for myself because “an injustice to one, is an injustice to all”.
It was reported in the news that, some youths visited the state headquarters last month in respect to the non-payment of the Ad-hoc staffs, and your representatives told them the qualm resulted because some did not provide accurate information as in their bank which TSA requires. Also you requested for the corrected bank details which was promptly attended to but no alert yet. Maybe you are thinking one day, we will all wake up oblivious of the non-payment because there is no more information about it; have spent a lot just to make sure my entitlements don’t pass me by; also, it’s as if your staff in the LG level have disappeared into thin air since after the election. These impediments, have resorted me to writing this piece maybe luck will shine on me and all those affected.
In a saner clime and commission like yours, payments of incentives and allowances to those that risk their lives and pass through undue stress shouldn’t exist more than 48hours and not make the service end in debacle.
Am appealing to the concerned authorities of Kogi INEC to please, pay us our meager amount irrespective of their anomalies or I will follow others to conclude that the money meant for the payment has been embezzled. But be rest assured I won’t quit till I get my alert from you.
