It is no longer news that there was a failed plot by some disgruntled dishonourable members of the Kogi State House of Assembly to impeach the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Momoh Jimoh Lawal.
The most disturbing issue is the unverifiable push given to that move by our media houses like NTA, Channels TV, Kogireports and a host of online media platforms
It is worthy of note that articles for public consumption should be well filtered and verified, but the mentioned media houses having gotten a handsome ransom threw caution to the wind and went ahead to feed the public with half-baked news regarding the purported impeachment of the speaker of kogi state house of assembly.
It will be recalled that there is an attempt on the floor of the house by some dishonourable members to impeach the Speaker, a motion moved by one dishonourable Ukwubile representing Idah constituency. Ukwubile was sacked yesterday by the Court of Appeal.
In the ensuing fracas, some genuine honourables given the prevailing tensed political situations in our dear state, decided to wade in and save the situation. Kudos to Hon. Bello Hassan Abdullahi, Hon Alfa Imam, Hon Friday Sani Makama and a few others.
The disgruntled dishonourables later proceeded to a beer parlour joint to perpetrate their inordinate act, without the symbol of legislative authority. They later paid one Solomon Ayedeye of NTA to broadcast their ill arranged plans, when the assembly has an assigned reporter, what a shame.
Rt Hon Jimoh Lawal remains the Speaker of kogi state house of assembly with all the paraphernalia of office.
