A prominent youth organization in the Yoruba speaking part of Kogi state, Okun Youths for Change (OYC), has announced plans to distribute writing materials to schools across Okunland as part of its end-of-year outreach activities.
The initiative, sponsored by Prince Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji, aims to support the academic growth of students by providing essential materials to facilitate their learning experience.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, OYC President, Hon Adekunle Ola, explained that the distribution would begin in the coming weeks, covering primary and secondary schools across Okunland.
He noted that the gesture reflects OYC’s commitment to enhancing educational access and empowering young learners in Okunland.
“Our organization is dedicated to promoting educational development in Okunland. This donation is aimed at supporting students and easing the financial burden on parents.
“We are grateful to Prince Asiwaju Olatunji Olusoji for his sponsorship, which has made this possible,” Adekunle said.
According to Adekunle, the distribution exercise is expected to reach thousands of students across the five local government areas within Okunland, aligning with the organization’s vision of driving community transformation through youth-led initiatives.
