Own Governor Bello’s Re-election Bid, ‘ECOMOG’ Tasks Kogi Youths

A political icon and aspirant for the Chairmanship of Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon Abdulkarim Isah ECOMOG has urged the youths of Kogi State to be at the forefront of the vanguard for the return of Governor Yahaya Bello for another term.

He made the comment in Lokoja on Sunday at a youth political interface he held in company of his group with the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja.

Hon ECOMOG who lauded the administration for its commitment to giving the young demographic a voice, noted that the opportunity they have could only be sustained if the Governor was given the mandate to continue beyond 2019.

The youths advocate further applauded the Governor for his commitment to delivering democratic dividends, and called on all citizens of the state to be involved in the campaign to return the administration for a second term.

His group, he said, had created foot soldiers for a door-to-door, persons-to-persons interface about Governor Bello’s return project in view of his landmark achievements in several sectors since his assumption of office and reiterated his determination towards achieving his objectives.

Speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja expressed delight about the meeting and applauded Hon ECOMOG for his commitment to the Governor’s project.

He noted that it was usual for there to be misunderstanding between the government and the governed sometimes, but the most important thing was ability to mend fences, which he said the meeting was aimed at achieving.

Onoja went down memory lane to remind them on how the Governor started his political journey through engagement with ordinary stakeholders and his eventual enthronement, saying it was high time for ordinary people to own the Bello enterprise.

He said the Governor had inherited some challenges before his assumption of office which he was making concerted efforts at addressing and appealed for them to take ownership of Bello’s aspirations to return for another term.

Other stakeholders who spoke at the meeting bared their minds on issues bothering them and commended the present administration for its achievements in various sectors in the state.
