Other People’s Health: My Little Story by Oshaloto Tade

I had the privilege of being a part of medical outreaches both as undergraduate and as a Corps (NYSC) member.

As a member of a students Entrepreneurship group named SIFE (now ENACTUS), we, in collaboration with a medical organization, reach an underserved Fulani community in a surburb of Anyigba with free medical intervention.

I was also part of the Chapel of Restoration’s medical outreaches to a needy community taking temporary shelter in Abejukolo, Omala local government.

Also, as is customary for Christian Corps members, the Rural Rugged Evangelism offered me another unique opportunity to be part of a group of people who deny themselves of their individual comfort just to ensure others get a chance at a healthy life. We saved lives at the interiors of Jigawa – thank God.

For me, these experiences teach me the timeless lessons of sacrifice, service and gratitude. I do not know of any more gratifying feeling than knowing that someone has bid goodbye to sicknesses and pain because of your support.

I have a profoundly unique opportunity to be a husband to a young woman whose life journey mirrors mine in many respects – especially the desire to touch lives. There is a satisfying consensus of sacrifice between us that is practically pushing us to dare.

Of a truth, daring here simply means that we are seeking your help in making sure that at least one person enjoys this holidays without that typhoid or malaria; with a lowered blood sugar or a stabilized mind. We want to snatch a few persons from the clutch of sudden deaths arising from easily treatable ailments.

Specifically, we are holding a Medical Outreach at Igbaruku and Iyamerin communities of Okeri land on the 27th and 28th December, 2019.

We have most respectfully dared you sir and ma’am. Will you take up the challenge? Will you support us?
