OSS Receives Donation of Science Laboratory Technology Kits from PEEMADI

As part of PEEMADI’s effort in capacity building across the country, the company recently donated science laboratory equipment worth hundreds of thousands of Naira to LGEA Demonstration Standard College, Onyukoko and LGEA Model Standard Secondary School, Bariki Okene local government area of Kogi State.

The corporate social responsibility thrust which started years ago was borne out of the company’s resolution to support the effort of the government in the development of the educational sector by equipping schools with science laboratory equipment as the government needs the support of well meaning corporate organization to provide the schools with the required partnership.

Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI) a section of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Okene Kogi State donated laboratory equipment to aid the teaching of science in the school.

At an event held to express their appreciation, members of the management, led by its
Ag. MD/CE, Engr. Yisah Yakubu Adajah presented the Laboratory Kits to the school management.

In his speech, Adajah praised the contribution of the teachers to the success of the school, while also promising that the alumni would be consistent in supporting the school.

The Principal, Mr. Umar Adabara Abduljelil commended the management of PEEMADI and old pupils for their collaborative efforts towards lifting the status of the school, while calling on other in high position to use their respective offices to help it. He added that government could not provide all the needs of the school because of other sectors that needed government attention.

“Moral values have been debased in many schools nowadays unlike in the past. The funding of education cannot be left for the government alone. This is why efforts of old students like this should be welcome to salvage our schools and the education sector in order to have a saner future for our present students. Other personalities should also emulate this gesture,”.

An award was present to the Ag. MD/CE Engr. Yisa Adajah by the school management. The awardee, whom he still in actiive service, expressed happiness that the legacy they bequeathed to their students could be appreciated while they were still alive.

Also Speaking at the event, the Ohi of Okene, HRH Alh. Isah Manman Okatahi, Ohi Apete of Ogu Clan, HRH. Kabir Okiri lauded the corporate social initiative of PEEMADI by supporting in the area of education noting that Government can not shoulder the responsibility of the education sector alone and require the support of responsible organization like NASENI-PEEMADI.

The event was graced by other dignitaries among whom were HRH. Alh. Isah Mamman Okatahi, Ohi of Okene, HRH. Engr. Yakubu Otu, Ohi Abara Acha, HRH. Alh. Kabiru Okiri, Ohi Apete of Ogu Clan, HRH. Alh. Ibrahim Anivasa, Ohi Ete of Ehinka, Director of Sport, STETSCOM, Hon. Akaka Ibrahim, Former State ANCOPS Chairman, Alh. Yunusa, former Ag. Chief Imam Principal Usman Muhammed Rasheed, Community leaders present are Alh. Hussein Ozigi, Alh. Andas, OSSOSA representative are Hon. Yekini Okino, National PRO, Ustaz Adabara Ibrahim, Mrs Faruk Umar Halimat among others
