Dr Yakubu Oseni, Senator representing Kogi Central has been announced as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/Cybercrime by the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan.
This announcement was on the heels of the lawmakers’ successful screening of minister-designates where Dr Oseni made reasonable inputs by asking sensitive questions that have national relevance.
Dr Oseni, a first time Senator who vowed to make difference in legislative duties has been found invaluable by his colleagues since the inauguration of the 9th Senate.
As a result of his wealth of experience, Dr Yakubu Oseni is to serve in other sensitive senate committees as member, all in a bid to bring his experience to bear and support the executive arm of the government to actualise its Next Level Agenda seamlessly.
In his usual sense of humility, Dr Oseni while reacting to the appointment appreciated his constituents for giving him the mandate to represent them at the National Assembly.
“I appreciate the Senate President for counting me worthy to chair this very sensitive committee. I dedicate this feat to you (my constituents) for the opportunity to represent you at the National Assembly.
“You can be rest assured that this added responsibility will translate to more benefits and dividends of democracy to you and Nigerians as a whole. I count on your prayers and patience as usual,” the visibly elated lawmaker said.
