Oroke Day: OCDA Appeals to Kogi Govt on Rehabilitation of Community Road, Fix Electricity Issues

Oroke Community Development Association (OCDA) has appealed to Kogi state government to come to their aid by rehabilitating the community road.

Speaking at the 2024 Oroke Day, the President of OCDA, Elder S. T. Michael said Oroke Amuro, in Mopamuro local government, is a community blessed with fertile land and other mineral resources, but it is so difficult to market her farm produces due to lack of accessible road network.

Elder Michael noted that almost everyone in the community practices farming but the dilapidated state of the community road has effected their economy negatively.

He expressed confidence in Governor Usman Ododo’s passionate commitment to rural development of the issue is brought to his attention.

The OCDA President also appealed to Governor Ododo to assist them by lighting up the community.

The Chairman, Mopamuro local government council, Chief Ademola Bello Destiny promised to give Oroke road special attention and make it motorable.

The council chairman pledged to prioritize the well-being of his people.

Member representing Mopamuro State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Olawumi Jacobs promised to consult appropriate quarters and ministry in order to fix the electricity problem in the community.

2024 Oroke Day, the maiden edition, was organized by OCDA in conjunction with the Oroke Traditional Council under the leadership of HRH Oba James Olu Alaofin the Oloroke of Oroke land.
