The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area led by the state Deputy Director General for the APC Campaign Council, Hon Haruna Isah has commissioned the ultra modern campaign office in Obajana community.

Also among the delegation was the administrator for Lokoja LGA, Hon Mohammed Dan’Asabe Mohammed; the Director General of the LGA’s APC Campaign Council, Hon Jimoh Fancy Tiamiyu; the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Job Creation and Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye among others.

Speaking, Hon Haruna Isah lauded the decampees for their decisions to join the APC, saying that Governor Bello has done enough for the state hence the continuous clamour from all quarters to join the party.

He noted that Obajana had witnessed a lot infrastructural and human capacity developments under the present administration, and so, the decision of the new additions did not come so much to him as a surprise.

Spokesman of the decampees who was the PRO of the PDP, Hon Joseph Jimoh Matthew told the gathering that their decision to join the APC was in view of the tremendous achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello since his assumption of office.

He said unlike the organised manner with which the ruling party held its primary election which produced the incumbent as its candidate, his former party has remained enmeshed in controversies causing uncertainties for its members in all parts of the state.

The decampee noted that it was as a result of his decision not to remain in limbo and define his and others’ political future that they have decided to come out and back the ruling party and the government of Yahaya Bello.

He said while they may play politics as members of the opposition which stopped them from speaking truly on the numerous achievements of Governor Bello, they know he has changed the situation of the state for the better since he assumed power in 2016.

“Now I can tell everyone about the security achievements of the Governor because I know the level of insecurity on the Obajana highway in the past. In fact, the terrible situation that we faced when traveling to Lokoja the state capital from Obajana was something we dreaded. That is no longer the situation today.

“The community is happy. We are happy that we have been able to define our political future by joining the winning team. I am assuring the leadership of the APC that we are here to stay and we will demonstrate that we run the election of Obajana and surrounding communities because we were the ones that used to mobilise for the PDP in the past. We are going to mobilise for Governor Bello and Edward Onoja come November 16th,” he concluded.
