It is no longer a news that the medical youth Corp members under the leadership of Kogi-born Dr. Aminat Atabo recently gave the Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima the “Icon of True Change” award in recognition of his achievements, track records and his zeal poised towards selfless service to humanity.

Fifty one medical graduates of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployed to Borno State on Sunday treated Governor Kashim Shettima to a dinner to appreciate him for fulfilling all the promises he made when he visited their temporary orientation camp at the Bauchi State Institute of Education in Kangere, Bauchi in December 2016. There, the Governor made attractive promises in order to persuade medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists and physiotherapists who were afraid of serving in Borno State and were contemplating re-deployment.
The Governor had in 2016, promised that he will provide security, approving monthly allowance of N100,000 for each of the 35 medical doctors, N50,000 to each of the 16 paramedics (pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists and physiotherapists) in addition to providing luxuriously furnished accommodation for all of them throughout their service year in Borno State.
Governor Kashim Shettima has kept each of these promises and this makes him not just a very unique leader but a father for all. Irrespective of your State he touched lives. Like my leader Alh. Muhammed Maude of Niger State, like Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State, like Ibrahim Idris of Kogi State, like Aisha Fulani of Kaduna State, he is touching lives and it is being felt by people outside their States. GYB too can do same by keeping to promises so that indigents of another states can celebrate him like these celebrated leaders.
I quickly call on well meaning Nigerians to emulate His Excellency, Alh. Kashim shettima for he is a worthy leader, worthy of emulation, I must say we are privileged to have you as one of our leaders in the country, may your days be long.
