When I had the privilege of meeting Ambassador Anthony Ogah for the first time about 3 years ago, one of the question I asked him out of many during our discussion was, “what’s the reason behind his philanthropic gestures to the widows, orphans and less privileged in our society”? That question was borne out of the impression people were having about him that his good will towards people is because he want to contest for an elective office. The reply I got from the peace ambassador made me to develop that personal likeness for him. He told me that he’s not a politician and he will never contest for any elective office and that he love giving, that’s the reasons behind his philanthropy and that’s what also gave birth to Amb. Tony Ogah Peace Foundation. The foundation came onboard so that through the foundation he can be helping our people the more.
Now, I will love to ask our people of Igala race, What is the sin of Amb Anthony Ogah?
Why the hate on his personality? Why do some people want to see him down and wish to pull him down by all means?
They all accused him of having intention to contest, please can any of you tell me the platform Ambassador Anthony Ogah is contesting ? Or which position is he contesting for?. Or are the political parties not done with primaries yet?.
Growing up as a young Igala boy who’s proud of his heritage, I do hear and see people of Igala and non Igalas having this believe that an average Igala man or woman hate to see his fellow tribal person progress. Some even believe all Igalas have PhD (Pull Him Down Syndrome).
As I keep adding years and having more experiences about life, I start to see some of this claims coming to bear. Is only an Igala man you will see with full tribal mark on his face in the office, after greeting him with Igala he will respond you with English and even caution you trying such next time. Is only Igalas you will see were an Igala man have opportunity to uplift his fellow Igala brother but prefer helping an outsider. Go to various ministries and see, it is only Igalas that keep writing petition against themselves.
So tell me, what is the sin of an Igala man that is just trying to be a different person among many? We have so many wealthy Igala sons and daughters, how many can we access like Amb. Anthony Ogah or point out their philanthropist gesture.
Is it a sin to help the widows, cloths the orphans, empower the youths? Is it a sin to give out of the abundant wealth God has blessed one with? If you failing to help your people, is it a crime if another person chooses to help his people?
This many question kept me wondering the sin of Amb Anthony Ogah that so many of our people want him down by all means out of hate and jealousy. Why fighting a lost battle?.
Same people that have benefited from his benevolent are same people going behind to be a backstabber.
Don’t forget that the man in question has his own family to carter for. That he choose to be of helping hand to the poor and the needy does not make it compulsory that he most help us all.
Have you ever think of how he meat up with his own responsibilities? As we are good in spreading the bad news about people, what about the good deeds he has been doing over time. Why are we not giving him accolades for that.
It might interest you that the person of Amb. Anthony Ogah is a man who love giving and helping the needy, a man who like to help without expecting anything in return. Is a fact that givers don’t lack and that’s why God keep blessing him the more.
We should drop the habit of “When one is poor, we don’t ask the source of their poverty but when we see them progressing, then we start all kinds of allegations and  questioning of their source of wealth”.
For us to progress as a people, we should drop hate and envi. We must stop this mentality why must it be only him or her. We should have it in mind that who God have bless, no man can curse. We all can not be wealthy and we all can not be poor, Event and time happen to us all.
Igala will progress if we allow love to lead. If we can be standing by each other and appreciating those that are spending their hard earn money in putting smile on others face. We as a people most progress in unity, love and peace and that’s what we at the Amb. Tony Ogah Peace Foundation represent and stand for.
