Nigerians exhibited all forms of excitement when the Supreme Court pronounced and brought to an end the lingered leadership tussle in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP on the 12th July 2017.

It is pertinent to note here that Nigerians showed plenty excitement not because PDP as a party got a popular judgement, but due  to the facts that, an option with structure and progressive trade mark which will serve as alternative for CHANGING the CHANGE just prop up. Nigerians are really fed up with the current state of affairs, most especially as far as our National economic lives are concerned.

Nigerians clamoured for Change with all hope that the crop of persons championing the call then were people that could change the economic fortune of Nigeria with a well designed marshal plan for National development, a kind of a Blueprint that take care of almost all our challenges as a nation. Nigerians were ready to wait and endure any hardship accompanying such Change, Support the policies with all vigour, but after the electoral battle was lost and won, the winner, the BROOM bearers still campaigns, probably because they lack the needed direction, a guide per se. There was nothing on ground from them as a policy of Hope, NO AGENDA.

And since they lack direction, our economy nosedived, poverty and unemployment creep in, malnutrition accompanied these two, now their elder brother, HUNGER went on rampage. All hope seemed lost, the whole thing looks a mission less administration.

So many things are wrong, it’s good fighting corruption but it must be done in all sincerity, the highest corruption in our system grows from the civil service, they in the Civil service knows the formula for stealing, they are the ones showing politicians the way. All that the govt need to have been making efforts to do is systemic change, once there are more open ways of doing things corruption will be maximally reduced. In addition, the govt removed fuel subsidy but succeeded in opening Forex subsidy, that is another conduit pipe through which cabals in kitchen cabinet enrich themselves. Let me also add that the unguarded utterances of our headmaster led us to recession, you can’t get suitors as a father to four(4) daughters of yours when you the father announced to the public that your own children are” FLIRTS”, not even the least of physically challenged  person will look your way. Oga uttered it to the listening pleasure of the whole world that Nigerians are armed robbers, no investor will put his money in a place where rogues operates.

I want  to conclude that it’s not about political parties, the various parties have very nice working documents, manifestos. but it’s the credibility and popularity of candidates as well the prevailing situations on ground, that ll determine the victory of any contest. What transpired on 12th July, was a demonstration of Hope on the alternative platform, PDP is and have become the option.

All PDP as a party need to do to attract and transform the jubilation to success in the forthcoming election is to manage the victory at the Supreme Court with all sense of cohesiveness, genuine reconciliation, level playing field and an aggressive drive to bring in more members. The non performance of the ruling party to some extent should be used as an advantage. The agitations all over  the country should be studied and the right likely recommendations  for a way out should be proffered.

May God Almighty guide and protect us all as a nation.
