My article is in response to the article of the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi state governor on legislative matters,  Barr. Haruna Yusuf, dated 28th of Oct. 2017. I wonder with dismay why someone of a status like this could come out boldly to criticize the effort of the senate in cushioning the plight of the people.

Sir, before I continue, I must let you know am not being paid for this neither am I a supporter of any party, but am just a concerned person having human feeling for our people. I have read so many articles on the media recently capturing the death of Mr Soje.  It is a pity and height of insensitivity for the appointees of the government and so many youth to have come out and criticize the senate and other stakeholders in the state.

Mr Soje’s case has truly revealed the deceit and lies of this government. Earlier before the incident, the governor has always been rigid claiming he was only owing 2 months and which was counter-claimed by the labour. Everybody seems to be kept in the dark, but now the truth is known. If we are managing an office, let manage it with the fear of God. A government that cannot pay her workers salary at the end of the month is already a failure, let alone nine months as claimed by the government just because he falsified his age. This attitude towards governance lacks direction and shows height of insensitivity.

At the beginning of this government, they were all blaming the previous government for their wrongs, now the blame has been shifted to Senator Dino Melaye claiming he is distracting the government. If truly the government is real, , they should implement what will shut the mouth of their distractors as claimed, they should stop hanging their cross on other people. Anything less than this shows cluelessness. In one of your paragraph, you made reference to the committee setup by the House of Representative; I would not be surprised if such committee was set up. I believe this was done to ascertain the true state of things happening in Kogi state and they saw that the State House of Assembly has also lost power to summon any of the government appointees. Sometimes ago this happened in the house and it all turned into bloody killings, I guess many of them are afraid that is why they don’t want to tread on this path anymore. If truly the government is real, redirect your direction and stop blaming others for your shortcomings.

At this stage urging the committee setup to live Kogi alone, is callous and joint collaboration among the government officials to continue to shortchange the wages of the workers of our dear state and shows there are shady business going on in Lugard House.
