Circumstances and sentiments were the catalysts that led to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) victory in the recently conducted by-elections in Osun West because the crisis in Osun APC was badly managed. This was a crisis that happened within 2 months. So, we can imagine the effect of the present crisis in Kogi if elections were to be held here.

The crack in the APC played a crucial role in creating a chance for even a factionalized PDP to capitalise upon to win the election.

Last minute strategy matters in politics and strategic opposition can always turn the tide. PDP can leverage on the present crisis and close ranks as there will sooner or later be local government elections in the state. Kogi state may witness more industrial crisis if this lingering crisis is not settled, as this is even one of the cause of issues between Senator Dino and the Governor.

Politics is a team work and in politics there is no permanent enemy but permanent interest. Never say never. In democracy, life of the masses is a pendulum between politicians, good ones and the bad ones. Money is a factor in politics, a game of number, test of popularity, but not all the time, the highest bidder may not always win. The mistakes of PDP must not be repeated because as it stands today APC is the biggest enemy of itself.

There are crisis at all levels of the party. Instead of it to be resolved, it is getting worse and spreading by the day. The whole nation is watching to see how the APC under your amiable  leadership, executives, stakeholders and national leader’s will try to settle this crisis.

This is our  stand, suggestions and advice towards the lingering issues in APC that;  Any mortal that claims to be all wise and powerful should watch it and think twice.  Both governor and the Senator seems to be surrounded  with people who are not courageous enough to tell them the truth about the yearnings of the people. They should call an emergency stakeholders meeting to resolve the crisis rocking the APC in Kogi state and the national level.

With what happened in Osun, chances of the PDP to fully bounce back has been tested, though not guaranteed. Weakening of party structure and creation of powerful entity could be counter productive to the party

Yours in Nation Building,
