I want to use this avenue to commend the effort of the organiser of Kogi Youth Summit held in Abuja yesterday, it is a good thrive towards better Kogi state.
I am one among the supporters and advocates for youth inclusion in governance and also a member of #NotTooYoungToRun.  I must commend the youth programme. This I see as a welcome development to bring us together for a better future, but while commending the effort the organizers, I must express my view for what I observed yesterday at the event after following it up to some point.
I believe Kogi state comprises of 21 Local Govt  and of which are all relevant to issues concern Kogi as a state, so in organising a youth summit like that one will believe that the speakers shouldn’t be sectional either by virtue of zone or tribe, one will also expect such programme to be inclusive of youths from all zones and for youths from all the local governments to be represented. However, reverse was the case in regard to the summit that was held in Abuja on behalf of Kogi state youth.
Therefore, I describe such summit a sectional, a tribalism forum that is far from Kogi Youth Summit. I also want to call the attention of the organizers to order, should in case of such in the future, let endeavour to make issues of Kogi state an inclusive and united affair, more especially the youth gathering as this will not only enhancing our coexistence but as well strengthen our unity and involvement in governance.
Thanks
