Opinion: Is Judiciary Still The Hope of Common Men?

We came out en masse to vote for Prince Abubakar Audu on November 21, 2015, facing the strongest political battle ever in the history of Kogi politics. In this exercise, Yahaya Bello was one of the actors that assiduously worked to frustrate and truncate our success but ironically today, he was made the beneficiary of our collective victory and he has obviously displayed a maximum disregard for the electorates who made the sacrifices. Bello is now laying trip wires for the leaders of his own party and creeping the electorates into untold hardship, thereby subjecting the entire state into willy nilly political situation.

Bello style of leadership is contentious and very undemocratic. It has turned politics uninteresting to the common men. We now see government as act of punishing the masses with a spread of poverty like a rash and cause no end to problems. Kogi people are now in disarray.

We wish the judiciary will come to our rescue to do the right thing  by removing Bello who is not known to our 240,000 votes that gave us the victory on the November 21, 2015. He was not considered before the votes cast. We only voted for Audu and Faleke as his running mate. Allowing Bello to continue is nothing short of political enslavement of the electorate. This is the cause of the present bellicosity and rascality currently playing high in Kogi government.

Kogi is in its peak of precarious and deplorable situation under the despicable political baron anchoring the affairs of our state. These characters who have undermined our efforts have succeeded in killing our party. Nobody is chanting “change” anymore in Kogi state. Apc is now like a poisonous pills and agent of satan who were saddled with the responsibility to starve and punish the citizens.

PDP’s “monkey dey work and baboon dey chop” became a spick and span and very amiable compared to the APC’s “monkey dey work and Tigers dey chop” syndrome. At least in the case of the PDP, both monkey and Baboon  are of the same species (class). We worked for APC and the opposition and anti-party actors took the glory, thereby subjecting the party faithfuls to mockery and disdain. Too bad.

We are highly spirited that the Supreme Court will give a logical, straight and unbiased judgement on the 20th of this month at least to revive the hope of the people of the state on judiciary. Judiciary needs to cover the big black holes that serve as a gremlins in our political coexistence. It would be hilariously ambiguous beyond our toleration and comprehension if Bello’s government is upheld based on sentiments and a cosmetic report from the security agents. This will simply bury the APC in Kogi state because Bello is not in harmony with his party members and nothing more.

Kogi needs an economically enlightened government not vagabonds who does not have respect for the elders.

Whoever is the influence behind Bello should desist if not God will also replicate in double what Bello is doing to us in their own state too. The majority of Kogi people are expecting that Bello will be unceremoniously kicked out  at the Supreme Court level. Bello is like a bone trap on our necks. He has to live for a fresh air in Kogi state.

Because of the maddeningly inconsistent nature of our judiciary and their peremptory historical background of sparing the truth, I will tell upfront though that Supreme Court will uphold Bello coronation. It is my contention that Bello will have the day simply because of his supportive capacity but not on reality. In case he made it, he should look for the elders to give him the traction he needs to keep him motivated and enthusiastic in his government.

I pray that the Apex court judges will give a much conscious thought and a complete concentration without any distractions to these cases and their subsequent judgements. Oh Allah, the people of Kogi are suffering needlessly pls come to our rescue as we know that you are the only reliable rescuer. Bello has driven our people to the height of frustration and hopelessness.

Ya Allah come to our aid.

We strongly need your intervention at this critical time of lives. Amin.
