Opinion: Individuals With Conscious Conscience Are Leaders

“Consciousness without conscience can be compare relatively to like a vehicle without a break” – (Bello Festus,2017)

The definition of a Leader as a concept varies in translations. Numerous paradigms have contend on the scope of the subject matter of who a LEADER is, thereby making it ambiguous in nature.

My view on Leadership came out of the logic of providing answers to the questions about who a true leader is.

The theory of traits postulated an argument of justifying a true leader on the basis of charismatic social human behaviours. Giving no regards to the non charismatic being, are we to say they are not leaders? That demands an answer.

Science of the society made us to understand that human mind at birth is a tabula rasa (i.e blank). Yet, others come to say that the quality of leadership is ascribed. Opposing views about this discourse is enough for one to go on a mind incarceration.

Social identity and personality is an end product of social learning. Meaning all activities and behaviours of men are end means of socialization.

One can disagree to that. Take for instance ‘the act of crying’, isn’t that a symbol of identification? Of course it is. Then, how can we justify the rational behind a new born baby crying at birth.

When, where and how do babies at birth learn the act of crying? Which agents of socialization teaches a new child the act of crying? – This demand an answer. (Well, no-one can tell – may be the kidney did, Lol)

Some says, at birth, a child respond and react to the first breath of oxygen through the act of crying. Those that mean crying is ascribed? Can we say it’s a biological endowment?

If it belongs to the ‘ID’ family, then the pleasure principles of the ‘ID’ as depicted by Sigmund Freud in this case is misplaced. Reason being that weeping has no pleasure attached to it – Only a lunatic weep for pleasure.

This argument can also lead us to that of disagreeing with the school of thought that mind at birth is a tabular rasa. If the man mind is blank, where does the idea of crying come from? Where does the idea of breast sucking comes from? – Probably a productive sociologist can come to aid.

The idea of a true leader is as complex as the idea of the origin of ideas. A brake serve as a defence to vehicles. Same is conscience – It’s that moral principle that defend and protect man from going against the natural law – “The law of doing to others what you want others to do to you, and not doing to others what you don’t want others  to do to you”

A man with conscience is just and morally upright. When conscience is misplaced, leadership crashes, mismanagement is inevitable. Similarly, when a motor brake default, vehicle crashes, accident is imminent. Thinking Loud!
