They collected the money but somewhere along the line there was a missing link and 15 members of the House reneged on the agreement and opted to go on exile rather than face the reality of having to regurgitate the crisp Naira notes back to the owner since deal was not done and 5 members decided to take over the House and had a field day with the support of Alhaji Yahaya Bello .
Alhaji Yahaya Bello wielding his enormous powers and making sure that those who went the other way were stripped of all their financial benefits while their self imposed exile lasted.
Now it is rumoured that they became so impoverished and lost all psychological and economic strength to fight on despite instituting and winning in all the cases against the 5 that had held sway in the Assembly while they were away.
To now turn around jettisoning their fight and dumping the three victorious judgement they secured at the Federal and Appeal Courts declaring the actions of the 5 and their Speaker illegal gives room for more suspicion and turning around to accept the leadership of Hon Umar they had earlier rejected and even litigated against is even more worrisome.
Why our legislators could suddenly abandon a fight which they have already won to look back and settle for the main reason why they had been at daggers drawn with the group of 5 is still a mystery to Kogi people and their representatives. Could it have been that they have been given more money to compromise their integrity? Kogi people are curiously asking, otherwise they should be held responsible for stagnating Kogi State for the last 7 months of their non performance of their constitutional duties in the KGHA.
