Political aspiration is good but it must be done under fairness, justice and equity. Ijumu is known for etiquette, decency and brotherly friendship.
It is worrisome that in recent times our cherished political rotation between the 3 districts is being threatened. Our forefathers were not blind when they, through love, peace and development, imbibed the spirit of rotation in other to foster the brotherhood till date.
When the late Olujumu, Oba Sumanu, went to great the beyond, every citizen of Ijumu was aware that it is the turn of Gbede and within the Gbede group they arrived at their own choice.
At the inception of our new democratic dispensation, Hon Biodun Ojo from Ijumu Oke in 1999 -2003, went to House of Representatives. In 2007- 2011, it was the turn of Gbedde and Hon. Dino Melaiye represented us.
In the forthcoming 2019 election, it is a fact that is clearly known, except pretenders, that it is Ijumu Arin’s turn.
It must be known to all and sundry that Ijumu Arin will NOT stand akimbo and allow those against the unity and peace of Ijumu to truncate our cherished political harmony.
Our God is the maker of orderliness and he does not inhabit a chaotic situation, neither does he permits treachery. It is therefore necessary for our political leaders in our various parties to caution their members and must be ready to put things straight.
What some political jobbers are out to do is to create confusion and perfidious situation for their own selfish lucre.
But one thing is certain, Ijumu people know better and at the appropriate time the will of the people shall prevail.
