I woke up this morning to hear that the partisan Police Commissioner Wilson Inalegwu and the OC SARS, SP Bimbo has been booted out of our dear Kogi state.

These two officers’ disservice to Kogi state has been brought to an end by Almighty God. Their ignoble roles in the August 1, 2017 desecration of Kogi State House of Assembly will continue to haunt them. I recalled that on that fateful day at the Assembly, the policemen were practically ensuring the safety of thugs that stormed the complex, leaving helpless lawmakers, Assembly staff and other visitors to run helter skelter for their dear lives.

The OC SARS was at the Assembly during the ugly incident. In fact he ordered that the then Speaker Imam Umar be barred from leaving the violent scene until he search the car to be sure their target, Makama, was no hiding in the Speaker’s car.

These officers’ alleged subtle role in the attempted murder of a serving senator in Lokoja is still fresh in our memories. Dino Melaiye was addressing his constituents in front of Kogi Poly gate when armed thugs stormed the place and opened fire on the senator and his harmless constituents while policemen looked away.

Their reign in Kogi introduced a dangerous dimension to our political scene. A reign of terror from well armed political thugs who will never get arrested by policemen present at the scene.

But I am happy to hear that Inalegwu is being re-deployed to Plateau state. Let him go and show his skills in the areas where Fulani herdsmen and Berom people are fighting. The OC SARS is now heading to Boko Haram headquarters in Borno. Who says God does not answer prayers.

Kogi will survive the current unfortunate storms.
