My people say “Éma méju tajuweñ, éfuta tuñyi ura”, meaning; if you don’t know how to sell a fowl, you will sell it to a house where it will prosper. That is exactly what Yahaya Bello has done to Dino Melaye. By initiating and sponsoring Dino’s recall, Bello has made the Senator more famous as far as Nigerian politics is concerned. By failing to recall Dino, Governor Bello has successfully made a fool of himself, won for Dino the admiration of so many Nigerians.
It should be noted now that the we are becoming wiser and more politically conscious and as such money cannot buy our votes. Anyone planing to use money to win 2019 elections in Kogi should better have a rethink.
Leadership is not by chasing all oppositions at all cost. The only way is to ignore oppositions and concentrate on your primary duties and win the people’s hearts. Attempt to silence one opposition will give rise to more oppositions.
Gov. Bello should understand that he can never silence the voices of opposition; He can never silence the voice of Dino Melaye. He can never silence the voice of Friday Makama. He can never silence the voice of Austin Okai. He can never silence the voices of Kogites.
