My People, the Masses of Nigeria and Kogi state.
Our mandate is our right, when wrongly entrusted, it will mark the beginning of an unfavorable era of leadership, events will then begins to run at cross purposes, and the consequences are glaringly disastrous. So in placing our trust on who seek to govern us at any level, we must ensure that certain criteria as enumerated herein should be considered and also serve as our bargaining power.
Experience over the past years have shown that unprepared and agenda less individuals have been having unproductive days in the corridors of power, with an exception to HE Umar Musa Yar Adua of blessed memory, who came in with a comprehensive and designed Blueprint, THE SEVEN (7) points AGENDA. As a state as well as a nation, we have our own peculiar challenges that requires a well articulated policies to tackle, but quiet unfortunately, those given the mandate to proffer solutions and design a future, seems to be totally unaware of their expected responsibilities or role, it has been a TRIAL AND ERROR approach from almost all of them.
As heterogeneous as we are and emerging from the pangs of colonialism, the country need something spectacular in terms of prospective Blueprint for a better Nigeria, then, now and in the near future. Same applies to all the federating units(States).
In line with the mentioned unfortunate development, it then means, if we must make positive developmental progress, as Nigerians we must seek or demand from those who aspire to lead us, a workable Blueprint whose implementation shall lead to a shift from these AS USUAL THINGS, only then shall we be securing the future for ourselves and that of our children’s children.
The time for National consciousness and conversation is now, let us ( THE MASSES) re awaken the nationalistic zeal by re directing and reorientating ourselves towards a better Nigeria, A DREAM I know is clearly possible. If not,some of these confused western mentality bearers that chose their own charity abroad shall always continue to misdirect and mislead us till thy kingdom comes. Suffice to add that all the agitations here and there in our nation is as a result of bad leadership.
So whenever they come to you, my people, THE MASSES, request or ask them to show what ideal Blueprint do they have capable of a positive advancement in line with the global trend. Once presented, it has to be accessed and as well contrasted to see that those ideals are meritorious and capable of addressing our peculiar National and state challenges.
Government is a social contract, we, MASSES, Must sign a well improved offer this time.
ACCESSIBILITY
We must ensure that whoever we shall entrust our mandate should be someone very accessible. Accessibility here means someone who is closer to the people at the grassroot. It is pertinent to note that over 68% of Nigerian population Dwell in the rural areas, most of the challenges facing us remain very numerous and much more threatening around there, people there are mostly farmers, from their produce they pay taxes, beneath the land they lives are numerous natural resources whose cash after tapped are used to run the affairs of the nation, but very disheartening, mismanagement, selfish aggrandizement as well as corruption are the returns on those assets to the people by the men and women elected to offer us leadership. This is probably because they didn’t get close to really understand our plight as a people, from a far, they come and so shall they view our situation, making them strangers and unaware of the true state of affairs.
Consequence upon these, I challenge us, MASSES, to avoid that aspirants:
# That doesn’t pick or return calls.
# That person who does not interact with situations and events around our communities.
# That him or her who have been privileged to enjoy our mandate once, either as a councilor, Chairman, House of Assembly Member or as whatsoever, but had no better track records of achievement and public relations should be avoided. This time I challenge you my people, THE MASSES, to reject them and their monies, that monies that will only fly when they want you to work like Zombie.
In conclusion, let’s take our destinies in our own hands, Stand firm, reshape and reorganize our dear country for a better tomorrow.
