It is the fundamental right of every citizen of a state to demand for good governance when it seems the sailors of the state are not bringing the dividends of democracy to the populace.
It is also a fundamental right for anybody who choose to question the leadership system of his leaders on how his or her state is being ruled without the fear of intimidation or incarceration.
In Kogi of today, Governor Yahaya Bello has chosen to assault and ambush anyone who question his government of tyranny. Governor Bello has ensnared most reputable indigenes of Kogi state for demanding for a good governance, transparency and accountability.
It is saddening that the kogi state government led by the dictator in person of Yahaya Bello has no iota respect for the law of the land as he has turned himself into what I called a “violator of law” in Kogi state.
It is no longer a rumour nor hearsay that since the government of New Direction came on board in Kogi state, most Kogites are not comfortable with the leadership or let me say the rulership system of its principal as the state has been mismanaged by the Bello-led government.
Today this same governor has arrested the only voice of opposition party in person of Comrade Usman Okai Austin, a human right activist who always bemoan the way in which Yahaya Bello is treating Kogites without any forms of respect.
Usman Okai Austin, who stands tall in requesting for the good governance from Governor Bello-led administration ever since inception has always been abused and harassed by the hailing hailers and the thugs of the governor but today he was successfully been arrested in Abuja and he has be taken to Lokoja where we are still not certain of what will befall him.
I am using this medium to call on well meaning of Kogites, our the political elites, the human rights activists from all over this country to rescue Usman Okai Austin from unnecessary punishment from Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.
One thing is clear, at the end of the day, we shall be responsible for our deeds either good or bad and we shall also account for them.
