Borrowing the words of former President Olusegun Abasanjo to address the situation of Aidoko and the leadership he has provided for kogi East at the National Assembly, we will conclude that he is a failure and should not be reinforced.
Following my article on the 7th of August this month advising him to take a bow and leave so as not to be disgraced from office even from the Primary election of the PDP coming up this September, instead of heed to the frank advise I gave to him for free, he sponsored a reply where in he insulted the sensibility of the entire Igala nation.
In his words he said “It is unheard of when races, sections, areas and federal constituencies are searching while some are proud of their representations who appeared at both the upper and lower chambers as ranking members privileged to lead committees and form part of the principal officers. The people of Igala race, of course some very significant sections are at the forefront of a clamour for the current senator to take a bow”
I read that reply and my mouth was agape for some minutes asking myself if he actually read that message before it was published.
In the last 15 years, all we’ve gotten from you as a representative at the National Assembly is a complete definition of failures. but instead of thanking the Igala nation for giving you the opportunity to take a shot at the leadership level and apologising to them for failing to provide good leadership, what they get from you is insult and mockery.
How can you ask Kogi East to return you to the Senate just for the selfish reason of becoming a ranking officer and committee head but portraying the Image of Kogi East badly? You are presently the Chairman Senate committee on SDGs, one of the most privileged committees in the Senate, how well has Kogi East benefited from this your choiced position as a principal officer at the house? You seat on Opportunities and waste it without even knowing it yet you are not ashamed to rear your head to the public.
You can not fail us and ask us to empower you the more to continue to fail. We know you sir, for fifteen years you have remained at the National Assembly, we’ve seen it all from you. You are not amenable to change and can’t change for good anymore. Go home!
We have seen your hand work at the National Secretariat of the PDP, sponsoring Calumnious campaign against very bright and popular aspirants on the platform of the party. This is your trade mark, using crook means to have your way. Not this time sir, you have failed before you even started. If you want to contest for election again, please come home and tell the delegates how well you have faired over the years before asking for more instead of going to Wadata Plaza to instigate actions that may polarise the party at the home front here.
And if PDP should follow you to the grave yard instead of focusing on electing as flag bearers of the party, people who can win them elections, what befell them in 2015, will only be small compared to what the party will see in 2019. Nigerians and indeed Kogi East has outgrown the outdated politics Aidoko is still carrying on his head.
Kogi East is not a personal estate of Aidoko so the party must not allow him to drag her into the mud he is already in. We are not reinforcing the failures in Aidoko
