A public commentator and social analyst, Mr Opeyemi Duke has commended the Kogi state government for prioritising merit over politics in the choice of Prince Olusola Akanmode as a delegate representing Kogi west at the National conference.
“The choice of Prince Akanmode is a good one for us and His Excellency, Governor Idris Wada deserves our commendation for his flair for bringing on board men and woman of strong character and proven integrity”, he said.
According to Opeyemi Duke, Prince Akanmode have the requisite experience to present Kogi West’s case at the national confab and people need togive him the needed support to succeed. “We have suffered enough as a people in this present state and now that President Jonathan has giving us another opportunity, we must make maximum use of it”
“The creation of Okun state and reunion with our brothers in the south west should be the front burner of our discussion at the national conference, Opeyemi said.
“I want to urge Chief Bayo Ojo SAN, Chief Kola Jamodu and retired AIG Osanaiye to all work together as a team and use their wide range of contact to pursue the Okun agenda at the conference.
“Finally, I want to use this opportunity to commend President Goodluck Jonathan for giving us the opportunity to correct the wrongs of the past. I strongly believe that okun agenda is feasible if we all believe and support it.
