A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Alhaji Abu Onaji, has called on the national leadership of the party to urgently wade into the  factional  crisis rocking the party in the state.

Onaji who made the call in Lokoja while speaking with journalists on the lingering crisis leading to the formation of two factions in the state, said it is worrisome for some members of the party to claim there is no faction in the party.

He said Barrister James Ocholi leads a faction while Prince Abubakar Audu leads another, within the development would affect the strength of the party  if urgent steps are  not taken by the national leadership.

Onaji who is the former Director General of Kogi Radio, said despite the directives from the national body that Prince Audu should be a member of the state interim committee while Ocholi remains at the national secretarial as the deputy legal adviser, the duo were busy struggling for the leadership of the party, saying the struggle for state leadership was the origin of factions in the party in the state.

He said instead of the duo to use their positions and connections to create a conducive atmosphere for members of the APC in the state to come together and work for the betterment of the party in the forth-coming elections, they are busy creating divisions and call on the leadership of the party not to turn deaf ears to what is happening in the state.
