Former Director of Media and Publications of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state, Comrade Dayo Onibiyo, has resigned his membership of the party.

In a letter dated 24th of April 2023, Onibiyo said he ceased to be a member of PDP with immediate effect.

This new development is coming one week after Onibiyo resigned his appointment as media director of the party.

Personal Assistant to Comrade Onibiyo, Mallam Abdulrasheed Mohammed told our reporter that “the last two weeks has being a troubling one.”

He added that the erstwhile PDP media director in Kogi state is yet to decide on his next political move, as he is believed not to be in this alone.

Mallam Mohammed hinted that consultations are ongoing and very likely, they will brief the press when they have taken a decision because it is a movement across the state.

In the resignation letter, Comrade Onibiyo Dayo stated that “it is time to move after 20 years of meticulous, committed and clear mind services in the PDP, where suddenly, his own skills, talents and gifts are now making him a subject of hate than, a subject of appreciation and as such, the right time to take a bow to allow other hands to be engaged.”

He referred to Nigerian politics has not being ideological, but of one which is being controlled by either a person as a dictator or a group of dictators, comparing the landscape to one that is laced with “the bad, the good and the ugly”, which however, is better in some other parties that appreciate skills, talents and gifts, rather than attempt to kill such in humanity.

He, however, prayed that “everyone will reap the fruits of his or her political doings,” stating that, “politics is not an excuse before God at judgment”

Comrade Onibiyo Dayo is from Ife-Olukotun in Yagba East LGA. He is a film maker, an administrator, an I.T consultant and a publicist.
