One Killed as Unrestrained Violence, Ballot Snatching Rocks Kogi East

Suspected thugs have killed a voter, Daniel Usman, at a polling unit in Anyigba, Dekina local government area of Kogi state.

The rampaging armed thugs stormed Ajetachi polling unit in Anyigba in four buses. They fired gun shots indiscriminately to scare voters away before carting away voting materials.

Sadly, the slain Daniel took to his Facebook timeline yesterday to preach against electoral violence.

“Vote and not fight ! Respect yourself and stay out of trouble. God bless Nigerian,” he counseled.

The suspects said to be working for one of the two leading political parties killed the victim.

There are reports of violence and ballot snatching all over Anyigba.

Commenting on the spate of violence across Anyigba, Safiya Musa alleged that voting took place in two polling units in the University town.

“Anyigba, 18 polling units ballot boxes destroyed, 9 polling units ballot boxes snatched and thumb printing is on going at ward collation centre by APC thugs. Voting happening only in two polling units,” she alleged.

In Igalamela-Odolu local government, the House of Assembly candidate of PDP, Hon. Friday Sani Makama was reportedly abducted by unknown gun men.

In Agbeji and Ofakaga, ballot snatchers had a field day.
