Omofaiye Emerges Okunland Outstanding State Legislator

The member representing Ijumu State Constituency, Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye was today conferred with an award of ‘Outstanding State Legislator from Okunland’ by the Okun Youth for Change Organization.

Speaking at the event, the President of the organization, Comrade Ola Adekunle reeled out the lawmaker’s achievements in the Assembly that earned him the award among which were his quality leadership style and representation in the Assembly, his humane disposition to members of his constituency, his outreach programmes that cut across several facets of human development such as educational supports, youth and women empowerment. He also lauded the quality of people-centred motions moved on the floor of the House by Omofaiye among several positive strides attained.

“Having conducted extensive research both at home and among Okuns in diaspora, the overwhelming recommendation is that Hon. Omofaiye merits the award of the most outstanding State Legislator from Okunland”, he said.

Omofaiye, while thanking the organization for the award even when he has not directly had any dealings with them before, assured them that whatever he did before now and is still doing, were motivated by his passion to serve the people at whatever level he finds himself.

He commended their foresight and contribution to the growth and development of the Okun race and charged them to maintain the good work they are doing particularly, their educational outreach programmes.

He then promised to contribute his quota towards ensuring the attainment of their lofty objectives towards a better Okun nation.

Omofaiye, who is Chairman, House Committee on Government House Administration and Governor’s Office, dedicated the award to all the members of the 6th Assembly particularly, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam, for providing him with the enabling environment.

The Okunland is  comprised of Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopa Muro, Ijumu and Kabba State Constituencies. Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye, who was the immediate past Chairman of House Committee on Works was recently conferred with the award of Best Christian State Legislator in Nigeria in an event held in Abuja, Nigeria.
