Olu of Magongo Joins Ancestors

Olu of Magongo in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi state, Obim Sam Bola Ojo, has joined his ancestors.

This development has thrown Magongo Community into mourning.

The monarch died peacefully in the early hours of Monday, according to a statement issued by the National President of the Magongo Development Association (MDA), Prince Jordan Alaba Akpata.

The statement described the late royal father as a distinguished custodian of Magongo’s rich cultural heritage and a symbol of peace, wisdom, unity and selfless service.

According to the MDA, throughout his reign, the monarch remained committed to the progress, stability and development of Magongoland, leaving behind a legacy that would be remembered for generations.

The association expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended its condolences to the royal family, the people of Magongo, friends, associates and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with the late traditional ruler.

It prayed for Almighty God to grant the departed monarch eternal rest and give the royal family and the entire Magongo Community the strength to bear the loss.

The statement added that the government, relevant traditional institutions and appropriate Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) would announce details of the official funeral arrangements and other related activities in due course.
