Olamaboro Council Vice Chair Lauds Gov. Bello for Grading Ojibo Igah Stool After Waiting for 200 Years

The executive Vice Chairman of Olamaboro local government council, Hon. Blessing Aishat Ekele, has expressed gratitude to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his determination to redress injustice of the past and enthrone peace, hope and transformation in the state.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday, Ekele said the recent grading and upgrade of traditional stools in Kogi state was a dream come true for the people of Igah in Olamaboro local government, as the state government graded their traditional stool to 2nd class status to fulfil the yearning of the community.

She stated that by grading the Ojibo Igah traditional stool, the Igah community has finally got an answer to their prayers for centuries under the present administration led by Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Hon. Ekele, who is also the Magajia1 of Uke kingdom in Nasarawa state before veering into politics because of her passion to assist humanity, said she is a fulfilled person that a struggle that has lasted two hundred years got answered in her time as a vice chairman of the local government.

“For over 200 years, my people had requested for the grading of Ojibo Igah stool from succeeding administrations, but to no avail. But today, the prayers of our ancestors and the living have been answered in our time. To God be the glory.

“We will continue to roll out drums for Governor Yahaya Bello and his team for this kind gesture to my people, my community and my local government. I felt fulfilled, especially as it came like a bang to brighten my birthday period. To me, I took this grading of my monarch  by our indefatigable governor as a ‘birthday gift’ that will remain ever green in my memory,” she said.

She noted that Governor Bello’s gesture further demonstrated his administrative commitment to redress injustice of the past and enthrone peace, hope and transformation in the society, stressing that her community will ever be grateful to the governor and his deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, whose contributions to the struggle has brought the positive vibes that made the grading her monarch a reality.

Equally, she commended the Chairman of Olamaboro local government council, Hon. Friday Adejo Nicodemus; Eje Olamaboro, Chief Mattew Ujah (Agaagu); the Ochai Ejeh, Olamaboro (Kpaaleko), Mallam Mohammed Kabir Usman  and host of others for their roles which have brought a new status to Ojibo Igah stool.

While Hon. Ekele congratulated the Ojibo Igah, HRH Onuche Shuaibu, for the new status that has properly repositioned him in the community, the vice chairman commended Igah Progressive Association (IPA) Chairman, Chief Godwin Gowon Ekele, and his team for their relentless efforts over the years which has paid off by the newly upgrade status.
