A group, Okun Youths Integrity Group, has in strong terms condemned Senator Dino Melaye’s attacks on the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
While dismissing the purported vote of no confidence on Governor Bello as a mere vituperation, the group, led by Honourable Sunday Paul, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the governor and the Chief of Staff, Edward Onoja.
The group expressed satisfaction on the grassroots development strategies of the current administration in the state.
“Okun Youths Integrity Group hereby dissociate ourselves from the recent misbehaviour of Senator Dino Melaye. We condemn in totality his action and utterance which are inimical to the progress and development of Okun land and the state at large.
“We passed vote of confidence on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the strategist , Hon Edward Onoja and the chairman of ALGON, Alhaji Taufiq Isa”, he said.
The group challenged Senator Dino to point out his achievements as a lawmaker and advised him to shun unnecessary attacks and vilification of the governor Bello whose administration is blind to ethnic and religious sentiments.
Hon. Paul, who threatened to lead other youths to recall Dino from the National Assembly if his persists in the act of sabotage, said the recent road projects awarded in the Kogi West Senatorial district by Bello-led administration is a direct slap on the self-acclaimed leader of Okun who he described as diaspora politician.
“We expect Senator Dino Melaye to appreciate the governor for his resolve to construct major roads in his local government area (Ijumu) where major stakeholders like Chief Olushola Akanmode, Senator Smart Adeyemi, Chief James Faleke and many others hailed from.
“We therefore called on Senator Dino to stop attacking and degrading the reputation of the governor who is presently doing what our past leaders cannot do”, he urged.
