The Okun Development Association (ODA) joins all Okun sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora in mourning the untimely death of one of our own, Prof Pius Adesanmi, who was, until his death a Professor at the Carlton University, Ottawa, Canada.

He was reported to be in the Ethiopian Airline that crashed earlier today (Sunday).

Anyone who has ever had the privilege of reading his contributions in any of the several media where he reached out to millions of his readers across ethnic, social and religious boundaries all over the world, will agree without hesitation that Prof Adesanmi was a rare gem, a deep intellectual, a prolific wordsmith who could paint pictures with words.

The perspectives he shared on whatever topics he choose to address were profound and illuminating. His style was unique and his language was smooth. He brought knowledge to many outside his university campus.

The Okun people, nay, the nation and the world at large, have no doubt lost an irreplaceable figure in the world of human capital and knowledge development.

It is our prayers at the ODA that God Almighty will grant him space in His bosom and comfort his immediate family, the Carlton University community, the people of Isanlu, and all Okun people, for this sad and painful loss of such a prominent pride of our land.

We pray that Jehovah God will put a stop to untimely/premature death in our land.

May His Soul Rest In Perfect Peace.

Signed:

Barr. Femi Mokikan
National President Okun Development Association (ODA)
