The entire graded and non graded traditional rulers in the five local government areas of Kogi state have congratulated Governor Usman Ododo on his victory at the Supreme Court over litigations that emanated from the conduct of November 2023 governorship election in the state.

In a statement signed by the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, the monarchs commended Governor Ododo for his steadfastness, commitment and peaceful disposition before, during and after the gubernatorial election which made peace, calmness and order to dominate the land.

”It is, therefore, a matter of responsibility and thing of joy to join you in celebration as you finally settle down for work with more concentration and focus.

”Your excellency, we are aware that distractions of election petition cases, attendant legal, political and economic demands are enough factors that makes most Governors to lose sight of governance during this period. However we are proud to be identified with your giant strides in governance, exemplary demeanor in leadership and outstanding commitment to providing dividends of democracy for our people.

”Undeniably visible and evidentially clear footprints of your few months in office in Okunland are the testimonies of our confidence in your leadership and assurance of greater prosperity that your government hopes to deliver in the years ahead. From the over #9bn erosion control intervention project in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu LGA, to ongoing construction of Egbe township road in Yagba West LGA and approval for Mopa Township Road among many road infrastructure receiving attention.

”Your excellency, your resolve to rehabilitate all existing water projects across Okunland is another cheering experience our people anticipate to see its reality under your administration.

“It is in view of this unmistakably convincing agenda and people oriented governance you have successfully commenced that have given us the impetus to identify with, support and pray for your leadership to succeed as royal fathers,” the statement read.

The monarchs assured Governor Ododo their usual support and continued collaboration towards development, peace, security and progress of the people and Kogi state at large.

They enjoined the Governor to remain focused, resilient and patriotic as he has always been.
