Okun Development Association Presidency; Kabba Declares Support for Olumudi

The people of Kabba (Owe) has declared  support for the Okun Development Association (ODA) presidential ambition of former Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of Customs, Mr. Jimmy Olumudi.
Speaking at the Owe Political Forum’s meeting on Saturday, Mr. Ben Owoleke said all Owe sons and daughters would work for Olumudi in this coming ODA election.
“The entire Owe kingdom is firmly behind the ACG (Rtd) Jimmy Olumudi. where ever he (Olumudi) goes, the Owe people are behind him.
“From Obadofin of Owe land, the traditional rulers across the Owe land and all the the stakeholders are behind  Jimmy Olumudi. He is the consensus candidate of Kabba (Owe) to the office of the President, Okun Development Association (ODA)”, Owoleke stated.
Extolling  the contribution of Jimmy Olumudi to the development of Okun land, Owoleke said Okun leaders ought to reciprocate Olumudi’s generosity by supporting him.
He described Olumudi as selfless leader who has contributed to the development of Okun land.
“Such an important figure in Okun Land, we as a people, have nothing to pay him back, than to support his ambition”
Olumudi was born in Kabba town, Kogi State on 28th December, 1948. He attended St Mary School Primary, Kabba and Baptist Day Primary School, Zaria from 1953-1960. From there he proceeded to  Govt Secondary School Birin Kebbi from 1962-1966 and to Govt College Sokoto from 1967-68 for his HSC. He was admitted into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, from September 1969 to June, 1972 and graduated with a degree in BA History with Hons. While in ABU he was a strong student unionist  popularly known as Olu for Food.
In 1972, he enlisted into  Nigeria Customs Service as an Asst Preventive Supt and rose to the rank of an Assistant  Comptroller General in 1999. He was the pioneer Chief Executive of NDLEA.
In the course of his service, he worked at Jos, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, Lagos, Kano and Sokoto. He held command posts at MM Airport Drug Unit, Sokoto Pan-Atlantic and was Zonal Coordinator at Kaduna and Lagos where he retired in 2004.
A passionate Christian of the universal church Catholic and a communicant.
He lives permanently in Kabba since his retirement but he is widely traveled.
