The national executive council of Okun Development Association (ODA) has expressed sadness over the passage of a former President General of the association, Ambassador Paul Babatunde Fadumiyo.
Ambassador Fadumiyo passed on after a brief illness on Monday, May 6.
In a statement signed by the current President General, Amb. Rotimi Akenson, ODA described Late Fadumiyo as a true leader.
“During the period he served as the President General of ODA, he led the association with honor, integrity, and a deep commitment to the development of the Okun people.
“Amb. Fadumiyo’s leadership brought about positive changes and progress within Okunland, his legacy will forever be remembered and cherished.
“His impact on the Okun community will be felt for years to come, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to strive for excellence and unity in all that we do.
“His dedication, humility, and passion for serving others set an example for us all to follow. We will always remember him as a true Okun son and a leader who worked tirelessly for the betterment of his people,” the statement said.
National Executive Council of ODA has declared a week-long mourning period to honor Ambassador Fadumiyo’s memory and pay tribute to his life and contributions to the association and to Okun Nation.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace, knowing that his memory will forever be cherished and his contributions to the Okun community will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him during this difficult time.”
