FOLLOWING the recent signing of the Community Development Agreement (CDA) between Zuma 828 and Okobo/Enjema communities in Ankpa Local Government Area, the people of the area have pledged unalloyed support for continuity of the New Direction administration come 2019.
This was disclosed recently by delegations of the communities during a courtesy visit on the chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources and Management Committee (MIREMCO), Hajia Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman who midwived the agreement.
While delivering a letter of appreciation to the MIREMCO boss, the chairman of Enjema Community Development Association, Musa Omale recalled how successive administrations have failed to facilitate the signing of the CDA between the communities and Zuma 828 which has been mining in the areas for the past seven years.
In the light of this, the communities who boast of 70% vote of Ankpa Local Government Area pledged their unalloyed support for the continuation of the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
“It can be substantiated that from available records, 70% of votes from Ankpa Local Government Area comes from Okobo/Enjema district. As communities that are politically conscious, we hereby declare our total support for continuity of this administration “, Omale promised.
Responding, Hajia Hassiat assured them of Governor Yahaya Bello’s keen interest to explore various means to develop the local areas.
She concluded that in a very short while, the scourge of illegal mining of Kogi State mineral resources would be a thing of the past as a result of the committee’s collaboration with security agencies.
