Okene Administrator Urge New NULGE Exco to Partner With Govt for Improved Worker’s Welfare

The National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Okene Local branch made history on 30th April, 2019 as they elect new executives to pilot the affairs of the union for the next five years without violence, rancour and acrimony that usually associated with union elections.

The Ahmad Tijani led executives were elected and inaugurated in a peaceful atmosphere with funfair amidst chant of union songs and slogans.

The Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad in a message to the congress which was delivered by the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Suleiman Jatto, the Council Administrator congratulated the new executives and reiterate his administration’s commitment to improve worker’s welfare and condition of service.

The Chairman announced to the delight of workers that the government have successfully reinstated over 380 Staff of the Local Government earlier disengaged for improper employment.

Hon. Abdulrazaq urged the new executives to continue to partner with the government to enhance worker’s welfare saying the era of unions violently attacking the government to press home their demands are long gone for good, therefore, the needs of the union should be tabled for negotiation and principle of give and take.

While listing his government’s achievements in the last three years, the Council boss thanked worker’s for their perseverance, patience and support especially during the last processes to reform the public service for a better performance.

“You have given us uncommon support and understanding and I assure you of better days ahead,” he concluded.
