Okene Administrator Pays WAEC/NECO Fees for 263 Students

For three consecutive years, the Administration of Okene local government council, Mallam Abdulrazaq Muhammad has continued to put smiles on the faces of orphans and students from poor background.

On Tuesday, the Council Administrator announced that his administration, in partnership with state government appointees from Okene local government, paid WAEC/NECO fees of not less than 263 students who are currently writing the ongoing West African Senior School Examination (WASCE) in Okene.

The Administrator disclosed this when he led council officials to monitor the ongoing WAEC examinations in Okene.

The Council boss expressed satisfaction on the peaceful conduct of the exercise saying the level of preparedness by the school managements were encouraging and assured them that government will do the needful in areas that needs urgent intervention to lift the standard of education in Okene local government.

He urged the students to continue to obey school rules and regulations and wished them success in their examinations.

In related development, Okene Administrator, Mallam Muhammad was at Radio Kogi, 93.5FM broadcasting from Okene-Eba, in Okene to felicitate with Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan fast. He also commended the people on the peaceful conduct of 2019 general elections.

The Council leader used the opportunity to intimate the people of his achievements in the last three years in office.

He said his administration have done tremendously well in the areas of security, provision of portable water, youth empowerment and establishment of Bank of Agriculture to help farmers and traders boost their businesses via soft loans from the bank. This, he said, has generated turn over to the tune of N70M.

He solicited the support of the people towards the re-election of Gov. Yahaya Bello come November, 2019.
