Chairman, Okehi local government of Kogi State, Hon. Amoka Eneji Monday, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the welfare of students in the LGA.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new executives of the Eika Students Association (ESA) in Obangede, the Council Chairman highlighted his administration’s various interventions and support for the student body since he assumed office.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Matthew James Omeiza, the LG Chairman expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the kind gestures extended to the students, such as payment of bursary, scholarship monthly subventions to students organisation in the state and provision of vehicles to ease their transportation.
“As the chairman of Okehi LGA, I assure the students of our continued efforts to always stand firmly with them. As part of our commitment, we have donated a new office space to ESA at the Civic Centre, Obangede, to serve their secretariat needs just like we did to her sister organisation, Ihima Students Union (ISU) a few months ago at Ihima Shopping Complex, Oboroke,” he said.
He charged the new ESA executives, led by Comrade Mustapha Arikora, to champion programs that will positively impact Eika students.
