A House of Representatives candidate of for Dekina/Bassa in the 2023 elections, Usman Okai Austin has made an emotional appeal to the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo, to come to the aid of a woman who recently gave birth to triplets in Lokoja.
The babies were delivered on Friday at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, leaving the family facing significant financial strain.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Okai described the situation as both joyous and overwhelming for the couple, stressing that the economic challenges currently facing the nation has made such births even more demanding.

“As a mother and the First Lady of our state, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo’s intervention would bring great relief to this family,” Okai said. “This is a time for compassion and action.”
He appealed for the First Lady’s maternal empathy and generosity to be extended towards the family, whether through direct support or by mobilising resources to assist them.
Okai noted that while the arrival of triplets is a blessing, it often comes with unexpected financial and logistical burdens that most families struggle to manage.
He added that timely support would ensure the children and their parents receive the care they urgently need during this critical period.
