The Special Adviser to the kogi state governor on SDGs, Arc Abdulmumeen Okara has described late Senator Otaru Salihu Ohize as a man who played politics with utmost decency and love.
Arc Okara made the statement at the country home of the deceased in Okene today as a member of the state government’s delegation on a condolence visit to the late Senator’s family.
Arc Okara who spoke in tears while comforting the wives of the deceased said Anebira and kogi state in general were deeply grieved by the sad news of the demise of Sen Otaru Ohize.
“Having known the late senator for many years for his selfless and exemplary leadership and his humane disposition, his passing away was a sad loss to all of us. Sen Ohize was a statesman of vision whose pragmatic political wisdom has helped immensely in the stability of our modern day democracy in kogi central and in the entire state. I urge you all to be strong because your husband died a fulfilled person”.
Earlier, the government delegation led by the Secretary to the State government Mrs Ayoade Folashade Arike paid condolence visit to the Ohinoyi of ebiraland Alh Ado Ibrahim before proceeded to the family of late Sen Ohize.
Mrs Arike said they were at the palace of the royal father on the directive of His Excellency, Alh Yahaya Bello to sympathise with him and Anebira over the death of one of their illustrious sons; Sen Ohize on behalf of the governor who was not in the country at the time the sad event took place. HRM Ado Ibrahim thanked the state government and members of the delegation, noting that death is inevitable while urging the people to be fair and just in whatever they do because there was judgment day.
The royal father prayed for the state and the governor and urged people to continue to pray for peace and development of kogi state.
The chief Imam, Government House prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late senator and asked Allah to grant Ohize’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Along with the leader of the delegation; the SSG, other members were the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry; Sanusi Usman Yahaya, commissioner for Education; Hon Tolorunleke, Special Adviser to the governor on SDGs; Arc Abdulmumeen Okara, SA on Multilateral and donor agencies; Hon Ibrahim Adoga, SA on local government and chieftaincy affairs; Engr Ohere, SA on Energy; Hon Akerejola, the DG protocol; Jamiu Asuku, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor; Hon Petra Akinti Onyegbule, administrators from the central senatorial district and other top government officials.
