Ohinoyi Ebiraland Calls for Peaceful Elections

As the fear of electoral violence grips the entire country, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land Dr. Alh. Ado Ibrahim has called on political class to ensure a peaceful and non-violent 2019 general elections in all parts of the Nigeria, Kogi State and Ebira Nation in particular.

The paramount traditional ruler of Ebira land made this known today in a brief encounter with this journalist in Lokoja at an official function attended by the wife of the vice president Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, His Excellency the governor of Kogi State Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and hosted by his charming wife Hajiya Rashida Yahaya Bello and a host of other women politicians including youths drawn from the north central.

The Ohinoyi stressed the need for all those seeking political offices to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the 2019 general elections starting with the presidential and senatorial elections on February, 16th 2019.

He told this reporter that all the political class in Kogi Central should shun electoral violence, thuggry and undemocratic tendencies that can put the lives and properties of the citizens in jeopardy and danger. He said he was happy that the crop of politicians he has seen so far in his domain are decent and responsible subjects who he can trust not to disturb his reign again at this stage of his life.

Speaking on the three years anniversary celebration of Governor Yahaya Bello, the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land pointed out that he was satisfied with the performance of the Governor so far and prayed for his good health and peaceful tenure in office in the years to come.

He said power belongs to God and he gives to whom he pleases at any point in time, stressing the need for politicians to play the game according to the rules because in every contest, there will always be a winner or a loser.

Recall that Ebira Land was thrown into electoral violence in 2003 general elections which claimed several lives and properties before relative peace return to the land in 2007 and thereabout.
