Engineer Abubakar Sadiq Ohere (FNSE) as titled with his name is a professional engineer and Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello.
Ohere is one who is very loyal and dedicated to a better Kogi State as being steered by the New Direction administration under the promising and selfless leadership of Governor Bello.
Ohere as a key team member of the New Direction is working tirelessly with other juggernauts, erudites and scholars in delivering the New Direction blueprint which will place Kogi State as the Industrial Hub of North Central Nigeria.
Ohere’s has taken after Gov. Bello in terms of generosity, magnanimity and acute leadership geared towards empowering the youths and making life better for the downtrodden.
Ohere is a detribalised leader and it is evident that he has impacted the life of youths, students, women and aged positively through his philanthropic programmes.
Ohere’s benevolence is known across Kogi State, he has gone beyond professing love for Gov. Bello by taking after his (Gov. Bello’s) footstep. He breaths GYB, thinks GYB, talks GYB and act GYB 247.
Apart from the several Educational Empowerment given to students, application is ongoing for undergraduate/graduate scholarship schemes as powered by Engr. Ohere himself.
He sponsored the rehabilitation of Lenon Memorial College’s science laboratory and construction of borehole in same school. He also sponsored the distribution of writing materials to Primary and Secondary Schools in Kogi Central and Okunland despite not being from there (Okunland).
He has empowered hundreds of youths through direct employment and provision of starters kits and tools for trained artisans in different vocation.
Ohere has also provided business supports for widows, market women, traders and farmers.
The Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has witnessed tremendous development in structures and activities. So many Traditional Rulers official status has been upgraded from third class to second class and first class in due consideration. They have also been giving their entitlements and tools of office.
Under Ohere’s reign and approval of GYB, Kogi State Traditional Council has witnessed tremendous respect and given a worthy sense of belonging; the stool of the Maiyaki of Kupa in Lokoja Local Government area of Kogi State was upgraded from second class to first class traditional ruler; the appointment of His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi as Obaro of Kabba; Chief James Abalaka as Ejeh Ofu; Chief Simon Ujah as Ejeh Olamaboro and Alhaji Muhammed Bello as the new Ohi of Adavi among others.
Ohere has been and still doing these things in the name of the outstanding Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, his love for GYB is unshakable.
