The following people are Ogugu indigenes that are occupying key positions in the Government;
1. Chief Edward Onoja – Chief of Staff to the Governor.
2. Dr attah Ahmed – SA Health
3. Rosemary Osikoya – Commissioner for Education
4. Arc. Bob Achanya – DG Kogi Bureau of Public Private Partnership
5. Pastor Emmanuel Adeyi – Perm Sec Ministry of Agric
6. Joshua Onoja – Secretary, APC Kogi State
7. The current Ejeh of Olamaboro, Chief Simon Ujah is from Ogugu.
8. Ogugu also have additional two permanent secretary and the current Education Secretary in person of Mr Idoko is from Ogugu.
Ogugu people are holding these key positions and yet they are fighting for the only key position Okpo is occupying. The position of the member representing Olamaboro in Kogi State House of Assembly, currently occupied by Hon. Linus Enenche, is the only position Okpo which is the highest voting ward in Olamaboro is holding on to and it might interest you all that we are not negotiating with it.
Just as Imane is occupying only one key position, which is the Administrator of Olamaboro in the person of Hon Pexy Adejoh, Okpo is occupying one and we can’t allow the agenda of Ogugu taking all key positions in Olamaboro. We will stand to defend our only mandate.
We as people ought to follow due diligence in distribution of powers among the districts in Olamaboro in such a way that no district will feel short changed or cheated. That’s the only way we can progress in peace as a people.
We from the Okpo axis will stand with our own and we shall not relent as a saying goes “a bird at hand worth more than thousands in the bush”.
If it is on the ground of performance, Hon Linus Enenche performed wonderfully well in his first term in office as he has numerous projects in his name with bills and motion moved by him. In the history of Olamaboro, no member has done any project in their time in office.
If it is on the ground of equity and fairness, Hon Linus Eneche deserve a second term so that we from the Okpo axis will not feel cheated or short changed, as it will not be fair if Okpo is left with nothing.
