Ogu Clan’s Wise Choice for Youth Leadership

As the popular saying goes, “Leaders are born, not made.” In the modern world we live in today, many people strive and struggle to be chosen as leaders, whereas it should ideally be the people themselves who are convinced by someone’s antecedents to entrust them with leadership. When you are genuinely good and worthy of leadership, you are naturally called upon without making any effort to seek such a position.

It’s just like being a good student in school—when you’re outstanding, you don’t need to lobby to be selected to represent your school in competitions. The school management, which oversees all student activities, will nominate you based on merit, often without your prior knowledge.

This is the case with our brother, Hon. Abdulhameed Ataba Oporo. His unique lifestyle is a perfect example of this analogy. He has lived his life with humility and integrity, unknowingly walking the path of leadership. His consistent record of selfless service and character led to his recent call to serve and oversee the affairs of the Youths of the Ogu Clan, one of the most populated and influential clans in Ebiraland.

Despite not holding any public office, he has, within his capacity, extended helping hands to many, even beyond his clan. His appointment surprised many, as it was expected that such a role might go to someone driven by clannish sentiments. However, the clan has proven its fairness and maturity by giving this sensitive and weighty responsibility to a generous young man without bias.

We strongly believe that his appointment will foster greater unity within the Ogu clan and strengthen ties between the Ogu and other clans in Ebiraland. The impressive turnout during the prayer session for his appointment, which saw people from various clans in attendance, is a clear testament that the clan made the right decision.

One can only imagine how grand the official inauguration ceremony will be, considering the crowd and dignitaries that attended just the prayer session.

It is my earnest prayer that his tenure brings about lasting development and unity—not only within the Ogu clan but throughout Ebiraland, especially for us, the Youths, as we are the leaders of tomorrow.

Congratulations to you, my brother, Ezi Ogu, and to the entire youths of Ebiraland!
