Hon. Michael Ogbodo, a leading aspirant for the Ogori/Magongo Constituency seat in Kogi State House of Assembly and the most senior aide in the office of Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Red Chamber before his recent resignation, has called on youths to endeavour to vote for credible Nigerians in the 2015 general election.

Hon. Ogbodo made the call while addressing his supporters upon arrival in Ogori/Magongo preparatory to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election for State Houses of Assembly holding on Saturday, November 29, 2014.

According to him, it is only when credible candidates are given the chance to occupy elective positions that Nigeria can advance to the next level in terms of the development needed to bring about the total transformation of the country.

The PDP House of Assembly hopeful, who is in his mid-thirties, also noted that it has become incumbent for the Nigerian youths to strive hard to take the centre stage in the running of the affairs of government at all levels.

While maintaining that he relies on God’s mercy for victory in the Saturday’s primary poll, Ogbodo, a grassroots politician advised youths to shun violence and refuse to allow themselves to be used by self-serving politicians, who do not mean well for the advancement of the society.

He further noted that the experience he has garnered as a legislative aide in the National Assembly will be of immense benefit to him in the discharge of his duties as a legislator in the state assembly, adding that he will never disappoint his people and party if given the mandate.

The prospective lawmaker equally observed that the remarkable feats and performance of his boss, Abatemi-Usman, as the youngest Senator in the seventh Senate, compared to those who had represented Kogi Central in the past, was a clear indication that the youths could do it better.
