The Ogidi Development Union (ODU), a socio-cultural group, has thanked Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other stakeholders for their support in the re-election of Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna as Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area.

In a letter addressed to the governor, the union’s National Executive Council said Haruna was returned to office in the local government election held on Saturday. The letter described the outcome as a resounding victory.

The letter was signed by the union’s National President, Chief Kayode Eniolorunda.

The union credited the governor’s backing for giving its members “confidence and strength” during the campaign. It said the support showed he was “a Governor for all.”

“We assure Your Excellency and the good people of Ijumu that Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna will not disappoint you,” the letter said. It added that Haruna would “consolidate on his first term achievements and deliver more democratic dividends” to residents.

The group also thanked leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional rulers and community leaders. It singled out residents of Ijumu for what it called their “massive votes.”

It closed with an assurance of the group’s “highest esteem and unalloyed loyalty” to the governor.
