Ogale Community Confers Chieftaincy Titles on Ijumu Council Chairman, CSDA Boss

The traditional Institution in Ogale Community of Ijumu Local Government Area has conferred Chieftaincy titles on the General Manager of Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, CSDA, Mallam Dauda Momoh and the chairman of the council, Hon Taufiq Isa. 

The coronation took place on Friday at Ogale Idi – Oro Town Hall as part of activities to mark 2021 New Yam Festival where Mallam Momoh was conferred with the title of the Atuluse and Hon Taufiq was recognized as the Olukewade of Ogale Community. 

Reacting to the development, the GM of Kogi State CSDA expressed gratitude to the community and dedicated the chieftaincy to Governor Yahaya Bello who he described as the Atuluse of the entire country and prayed for him to achieve his aspiration of becoming Nigeria’s President in 2023. 

He noted that the community has become a part of him because they were people that appreciated what his agency has been able to bring to them, saying it would motivate him not only to do more, but to redouble his efforts to see the area develop.

Mallam Dauda stressed that Governor Yahaya Bello is a man that loves those who show appreciation and he was sure that the request of the community for a market, drainage system and road projects were things that he would present before the government for consideration.

While assuring the people of his preparedness to ensure the world knew about them, he urged the planning committee for the Yam Festival to always put him in notice whenever it was time, as was ready to be part of those to plan the event in future.

He stressed that if any opportunity came his way, he would make sure he attracts development to them because they have shown they were different out of the communities touched by his agency across the state.

On his part, the chairman, Hon Taufiq Isa used the occasion to also set up a committee to look into the educational problem facing the area with a view to addressing them.  Performing the coronation, the Ologale of Ogale, Oba Otitoju Kolajo described the duo as exemplary leaders who have genuine passion for the state’s development especially rural communities.

He specially applauded Mallam Momoh for the way he has changed the story of the community and given them hope again with the construction of a town hall and a cottage hospital, gestures that have improved the lives of dwellers. 

The traditional ruler used the occasion to announce how proud the people are, and appealed that other communities within the area should also be looked at in terms social amenities that would make their lives better.

In his opening remarks, the Shaba of Ogale Idi – Oro, Oba Abdulrahman Ibinola who applauded the new title holders for the manner they have changed the story of the community for the better and said they remained indebted to them.

He praised Governor Yahaya Bello for putting the two in such important positions and Almighty God to continue to give them the wherewithal to pilot the affairs of their offices and carry on in impacting lives positively.

Highlights of the occasion were entertainment from local artists and groups and presentation of the new yams to the chieftaincy title recipients and their spouses.
