The Director Local Government and the Head of Service, Ofu local government council, Deaconess Racheal Ukwo John, has inaugurated the new exco of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN).
She called on all officers in Ofu Local Government Area to serve the people, devoid of selfish interests.
Deaconess Racheal John said the commitment of leaders in this administration is highly solicited as the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will not tolerate idleness and indiscipline.
She urged the Union leaders to render services to humanity in all their doing and forget about their selfish interest, adding that the service rendered unto others will be an elevation to the land.
She acknowledged that any position acquired in life was ordained by God as She called on the members of the Medical and Health Workers Union to cooperate with the newly inaugurated executive for them to succeed.
Earlier, the State Chairman of Health and Medical Workers Union of Nigeria, Comrade Gabriel Amari who also doubles as Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kogi State, commended the DLG for her support for the workers unions in Ofu Local Government, adding that the backbone and life wire of Medical and Health Workers Union in Kogi State are the past leaders from Kogi East, saying that the Kogi East Leaders are formidable, sincere and dogged in rendering services to the people.
Comrade Amari said that the condition of workers in Kogi State will continue to improve, adding that the Governor has a passionate love for workers in Kogi State as Ododo has recently inaugurated a committee for the implementation of 70% minimum wage in Kogi States, both for State and Local government workers.
He charged the newly inaugurated EXCO of Medical and Health Workers Union in Ofu Local Government to take service to humanity as a priority and he urged the members of Medical and Health workers Union to support the newly inaugurated leaders for them to succeed.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Joseph Omale, the newly elected Chairman of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Ofu branch, thanked the DLG and the State Chairman of MHWUN for their commitment to Health Workers Union, Ofu branch, adding that this set of EXCO will take the workers in Ofu Local Government to the promise land.
Comrade Joseph called on Union members to cooperate with him as he worked tirelessly to satisfy the aspirations of workers in Ofu Local Government Area.
In a remarks, the HOD Health, Mr Aminu Urungbodi expressed his delight over the inauguration of the newly elected EXCO of the Health Union, he thank the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Amari and he admonished the new leaders to work for the interest of the people .
